Guidelines for Outdoor Services
at Our Savior’s Lutheran
Our Sunday morning on line services will continue.
Outdoor service will be held on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
Those who are 65 years of age and over, vulnerable, or have underlying conditions should consider if they should or should not attend.
Stay home if you are not feeling well.
Arrive before 9 a.m. but DO NOT GATHER in groups.
The service will be by the pavilion and surrounding area.
To sit in the area, bring your own chair(s) and space yourself at least 6 feet or further away from any other persons unless they are your family. If you plan to sit, please park your car in the upper lot area.
You can also stay in your car and tune into the FM station broadcast to listen to the service if you are more comfortable attending the service in that manner. You may park in the lower lot area as parking space allows.
There will be a reception table where hand sanitizer, bulletins, and communion cup/wafer kits are available. An attendant wearing a mask and gloves will disperse these items to you. After the service, please tote those items home with you for disposal.
An offering plate/basket will be on the reception table for you to place your offering.
Masks will not be required outdoors but encouraged, especially if you come within the six feet plus social distance of another person or persons. You have to provide your own mask.
There will be no handshakes or hugs.
There will be no hymnals. Live music and/or recordings may be played during a service but due to the potential transmission of the virus, singing will not be allowed.
Sharing the peace will be done by a nod or a wave.
Do not leave your social distance space.
Please use the restroom before you leave home.
Restrooms will be open for emergency use only.
Restrooms will be disinfected prior to the service and after the service. No other areas of the church should be entered.
Doors will be propped open so there is no contact with the door or door handles.
Only one person at a time to use the restroom.
Social distancing if more than one person.
Hand washing required.
Hand sanitizer available if needed.
No coffee fellowship following service.
Outdoor services may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Announcements will be made via the OSLC Facebook Page and website. If you prefer notification via email or phone call, please let Caroline know of this preference.
Note that all of this can change at any given time due to the Covid-19.
Please stay informed, be safe and God’s Peace to all.
“Lunch with Luke” Fellowship
Lunch with Luke is a weather-permitting, weekly opportunity to get to know Minister Luke and enjoy some fellowship during this time of Covid-19. Lunch with Luke will take place on Tuesdays at noon around the pavilion at OSLC. In order to participate, please follow these guidelines:
Bring your own chair or a blanket and place it so that you are socially distanced at least 6 feet from all other participants. Families are permitted to sit closer to each other. There will be a few tables set up along with the picnic tables but access to a table is not guaranteed.
We can only allow up to 25 people for an outdoor gathering. If on the rare occasion capacity is reached, you may be asked to leave. We apologize for any potential inconvenience.
If you plan on eating, bring your own food, beverage, eating utensils, and anything else you need to enjoy your meal.
Do not share food, beverages, or personal items with others outside of your immediate family.
When finished, tote away everything you brought with you.
We encourage you to only use the restrooms if necessary. All doors leading into the church basement and the restroom doors will be propped open. Do not touch any door handles. Enter the building one at a time or maintain social distancing if more than one person enters. Wash your hands before returning.
Hand sanitizer will be made available.
Though they are not mandatory, we encourage masks to be worn except when eating.
DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU FEEL ILL, HAVE A FEVER, OR ARE PARTICULARLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS.
Finally, you may consider volunteering to assist with setting up tables beforehand or sanitizing and putting tables away afterwards. Please note that masks and gloves will be required for these activities.
Drive-Through Communion Guidelines
Drive-thru Communion will be offered on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Please follow these guidelines if you choose to attend:

Stay in your car and rolldown your window.
Minister Luke will be wearing a mask and gloves. He will hand you a sealed communion wafer and cup package and instruct you how to proceed.
Please take your used packaging home with you for disposal.
An offering plate will be available if you chose to leave an offering at this time.
